Meet the Team

Tyler Goree

Managing Partner

Tyler is the Co-Founder and Manager of Arroyo Energy Partners. Tyler is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cazador Oil & Gas. Tyler has over 15 years of industry experience throughout multiple basins in the lower 48; the majority focused on the acquisition and management of mineral, royalty and leasehold working interests. In addition to overseeing acquisitions efforts currently for Arroyo, he is involved in deal sourcing and evaluation, business development, and strategy functions across Arroyo’s Funds.
Before Tyler co-founded Cazador and subsequently Arroyo with Zack. Previously he managed assets in the Permian and Haynesville Basins for Merit Energy Company and EXCO Resources. Tyler Earned a BBA in Marketing and Energy Commerce from Texas Tech in 2007. Tyler has been involved as an advocate for Dell Children’s Medical Center and as a volunteer and advocate for Midland Children’s Rehabilitation in Midland. Tyler is married with a daughter and son and resides full time in Midland, Texas.

Zack Sledge

Managing Partner

Zack serves as Co-Founder and Manager of Arroyo Energy Fund I, and II, which have acquired over 8,000 Net Royalty Acres (NRA’s) in the Permian and Williston Basins since their formation in 2019. Zack also co-founded Cazador and serves as a Managing Member. Since partnering with Tyler, Zack has generally been responsible for the generation, development and vetting of new prospects. Zack has generated prospects in the mineral, leasehold and operated spaces that were sold for significant multiples. In addition, Zack also oversees title and due diligence related to acquisitions for Cazador and Arroyo. Prior to working with Tyler, Zack spent several years as an independent, buying minerals, as well as managing acquisitions and performing title, leasing and due diligence for companies including Double Eagle and Anadarko. Zack graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, with a B.B.A in Finance, B.S. in Economics, and minor in Psychology. Zack was a 3-year letterman on the football team after walking on and earning a scholarship. As a senior, he was named Team Offense MVP, Honorable Mention All-Conference as a wide receiver, and Academic All-Conference. Post undergraduate, Zack spent a season as a Graduate Assistant Football Coach at University of Louisiana-Monroe. Also a Midland native, Zack is married and has four children.

Matt Guisinger

Chief Financial Officer

Matt joined Arroyo as CFO in 2021 and has over 15 years of oil and gas experience, split between working at an operator and investing in mineral, royalty and leasehold interests. At Arroyo, Matt focuses on asset underwriting, financial modeling and deal sourcing as well as overseeing finance, accounting and fund management.
Prior to joining Arroyo, Matt served as CFO of Santa Elena Minerals / OGX Resources, an EnCap Investments, L.P. portfolio company focused on acquiring minerals and royalties in the Permian Basin. Matt was part of a team that deployed over $1 billion to acquire minerals and royalties in the Permian Basin and completed divestitures totaling over $500 million before ultimately contributing the majority of its remaining assets to form EnCap Minerals in 2021. Before Santa Elena, Matt worked at Concho Resources in various roles in the corporate planning group and began his career with Amtex Energy, a small Permian Basin independent operator. Raised in Midland, Matt graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in History. Matt lives in Midland with his wife and two children and serves on the Board of Directors of Hillcrest School.

Brendon Morin

Reservoir Manager

Brendon joined Arroyo in summer 2022 as Reservoir Manager to support technical and financial deal evaluations, corporate reserves, portfolio forecasting and management. Brendon most recently served as the Senior Reservoir Engineer for Sundance Energy with a broad role supporting corporate development planning, reserves, budgeting, and provided instrumental support for the recent corporate divestment from the Eagle Ford. Prior to Sundance, Brendon held various reservoir engineering roles focused on both conventional and onshore unconventional assets across many of the L48 basins including the Permian, Williston, and Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Over Brendon’s 9 years of reservoir experience he has been directly involved in leading corporate investment decisions and divestments totaling $1.2B. Brendon holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Colorado Boulder and a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from University of Wyoming. Brendon is married with one daughter.

Senior Advisor

Fred is a Senior Advisor to Arroyo, where he supports management in various capacities, including fund administration, general partner best practices, investment strategy, and investor services. Fred brings more than 35 years of experience in investment consulting and portfolio management in the real estate and wealth management industries.
